Members of our Club benefit from attending and participating in our monthly meetings:
-
Opportunities to seek answers to worrying computing problems;
-
Provide constructive support for the growth of the Club;
-
Participating in direction-determining member surveys;
-
Tuition through the monthly presentations in topics ranging over a broad area.
(Past presentations have included: Computer Maintenance, Fonts, iDVD,
iMovie, iPhoto, iPods, GarageBand, Converting vinyl records to digital,
Troubleshooting);
-
Members can also volunteer to make long or short presentations on computing
topics of their choosing;
-
Members are given access to a members Area website
(http://taamug.pixilation.id.au/share/),
where they may access official documents such as minutes of meetings, and financial reports.
Informational resources such as publications, hints-and-tips and presentation notes may
also be found here.
-
During the presidency of Colin McGuire, members received, by email,
a link to the monthly edition of The President’s Notes.
These publications are archived on the Members Area website;
-
Until March 2013, members were advised, by email, when the Apple-Bug electronic magazine
(from the Brisbane-based Apple-Q User Group)
could be accessed at the Members Area website. The group has now lost access to this
resource, but issues back to January 2009 are archived on the Members Area website;
-
Other Apple computing information is available from time to time, for example,
on how to take better digital photographs, and useful links to websites;
-
Over recent times we have also established an email network enabling members
to seek information between meetings and interact with others over issues that
concern them now;
-
Members are also able to notify the group regarding hardware for sale,
or seek to buy used computers or equipment.
